Die statistische Analyse von Daten ist ein zentraler Aspekt jeder wissenschaftlichen Forschung.
Unsere Arbeitsgruppe ist an der Entwicklung einer Software beteiligt, die es ermöglicht Datenanalysen im Rahmen der Bayesschen Interpretation des Wahrscheinlichkeitsbegriffs durchzuführen, dem "Bayesian Analysis Toolkit in Julia - BAT.jl".
BAT.jl bietet benutzerfreundliche Implementationen von Algorithmen und Methoden, die für Bayessche Datenalnaysen notwedig sind. Dies umfasst insbesondere Funktionen zum Sampling von Wahrscheinlichkeitsverteilungen, z.B. mithilfe von Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) Methoden. Aber auch weitere Algorithmen, z.B. zur numerischen Integration hoch-dimensionaler Verteilungen sind ein wichtiges Element von BAT.jl.
Wir arbeiten jederzeit an der Weiterentwicklung von BAT.jl und der Entwicklung und Implementation neuer statistischer Methoden. Im Rahmen dieses Projekts bieten wir daher stets verschiedene Themen für Bachelor oder Masterarbeiten an. Diese können z.B. die Implementation neuer Sampling Algorithmen oder die Optimierung bestehender Methoden umfassen. Auch die Verknüpfung der klassichen MCMC Methoden mit modernen Methoden aus dem Bereich des Machine Learnings sind ein aktuelles Arbeitsgebiet in BAT.jl.
